Regular Screenings
When to Get Tested for STIs
Many infections cause no symptoms, so don't wait for signs.
New or Multiple Partners
The CDC recommends yearly STI screening if you have new or multiple sexual partners.
Symptoms
Discharge, sores, a rash, burning, or pelvic pain are all good reasons to get checked.
Higher Risk
Testing every 3 to 6 months is recommended for people at higher risk of infection.
Starting PrEP
PrEP requires baseline HIV and STI tests, and we can take care of both in one visit.
A test taken too soon after an exposure may miss some infections. Your provider can tell you when to retest.
STI Prevention Options
Testing finds infections. These options help prevent them.
DoxyPEP
A single dose of the antibiotic doxycycline, taken within 72 hours after sex, can lower your chance of getting syphilis, chlamydia, and gonorrhea.
PrEP for HIV
A daily pill or long-acting injection that is over 99% effective at preventing HIV.
