Dr. Lorenzo Telleria is an experienced Infectious Disease physician dedicated to the diagnosis, treatment, and prevention of infectious diseases. Throughout his career, he has worked closely with multidisciplinary healthcare teams to improve patient outcomes, optimize clinical workflows, and advance disease prevention efforts.
Dr. Telleria has extensive experience managing complex infectious diseases and has played an important role in epidemic response efforts in both Venezuela and Africa. His commitment to public health, disease prevention, and quality patient care continues to guide his work today.
Among his professional accomplishments, Dr. Telleria collaborated with nephrologists, plastic and reconstructive surgeons, and critical care teams to establish a hospital burn unit, expanding access to specialized care for patients with severe burn injuries. He also identified a community need for outpatient infusion services and helped establish a parenteral infusion center to provide treatment for patients requiring long-term intravenous antibiotic therapy, including those with osteomyelitis.
Dr. Telleria is also recognized for his contributions to infection prevention and outbreak management, including efforts that helped contain the H1N1 influenza pandemic and reduce healthcare-associated infections.
