HIV Care in Port St. Lucie
Living with HIV today looks very different than it did even a decade ago. With the right care and treatment, people with HIV can live long, healthy lives — and achieving an undetectable viral load protects both your health and the health of your partners.
At Midway Specialty Care Center in Port St. Lucie, our infectious disease physicians bring focused expertise to HIV management. Unlike a general practitioner, our providers work exclusively in infectious disease — which means your HIV care is built on deep, current clinical knowledge, not divided attention.
Whether you were recently diagnosed, transferring care, or returning to treatment after time away, we're ready to build a plan that fits your life.
Your care is comprehensive, coordinated, and built around your goals.
ART is the cornerstone of HIV treatment. Your provider will select a regimen based on your viral strain, tolerance, and lifestyle — with the goal of reaching and maintaining an undetectable viral load. We stay current with the latest FDA-approved treatments, including long-acting injectable options that eliminate the need for daily pills.
Regular lab work is essential to evaluating how well your treatment is working. We monitor your viral load (the amount of HIV in your blood) and CD4 count (a measure of your immune strength) on a schedule tailored to where you are in treatment. Early detection of changes means faster adjustments — keeping your health on track.
Antiretroviral medications can be expensive, but our participation in the federal 340B Drug Pricing Program allows us to provide HIV medications at significantly reduced costs. Our care team also works with pharmaceutical assistance programs and insurance plans — so cost is never a reason to skip treatment.
HIV can develop resistance to certain antiretroviral medications over time. Resistance testing helps identify which drugs will be most effective for your specific strain, allowing your provider to select or adjust your regimen before resistance becomes a barrier to an undetectable viral load.
Medical care is only one piece of the puzzle. Our case managers connect patients with insurance enrollment assistance, Ryan White Program support, housing resources, transportation, mental health referrals, and community services. We understand that life circumstances affect health — and we work to remove barriers to care.
Board-certified infectious disease specialists dedicated to your long-term health.

Our Port St. Lucie clinic welcomes patients at every stage of their HIV journey.
A positive diagnosis can feel overwhelming. Our team will walk you through exactly what your diagnosis means, what treatment involves, and what to expect — with honesty, compassion, and no judgment.
Moving your HIV care to a new provider doesn't need to be complicated. We make it easy to transfer records, continue your current regimen, or explore new treatment options if you're ready for a change.
Life happens. If you've been out of care — for any reason — we won't ask for explanations. We'll simply meet you where you are and work with you to get back on track safely and without pressure.
For patients already thriving on ART, we provide consistent long-term monitoring, medication reviews, and proactive management of HIV-related health considerations as you age.
Getting started is straightforward. Here's how your care begins.
Call our Port St. Lucie office at 772-224-8399 or submit the request form. Our staff will help identify the right appointment type, answer any intake questions, and let you know what to bring.
Your provider will conduct a thorough medical history review and order baseline laboratory tests — including HIV viral load, CD4 count, resistance testing if needed, and a full metabolic panel. These results form the foundation of your individualized treatment plan.
Once labs are reviewed, your provider will discuss your treatment options in plain language. Together, you'll decide on an ART regimen that balances effectiveness, side effect profile, and your daily routine. If you're already on ART, we'll evaluate whether your current regimen is optimal.
HIV care is a long-term relationship. Follow-up appointments are typically scheduled every 3–6 months, with labs reviewed at each visit to confirm your viral load remains undetectable. Your care team is reachable between visits for questions, prescription refills, and concerns.
