About Melissa Rudd
Melissa Rudd, DNP, APRN, FNP-BC, PMHNP-BC has been in academia and clinical practice for twenty-six years. Originally, from Pennsylvania, she practiced as a family nurse practitioner in rural areas. She established a primary care clinic for the Amish Community in Western Pennsylvania. Additionally, in Pennsylvania, she practiced as a hospitalist in a tertiary care hospital, decreasing the length of stay. When she relocated to Florida, she completed her doctoral degree in nursing practice with an emphasis on leadership. Veterans Affairs and the University of South Florida have employed her. She has worked for a large mental health telemedicine group providing mental health services for over seven years reducing the barrier of access and time for patients to be seen by a qualified provider. Her expertise includes both inpatient and outpatient treatment. In her acumen, she has produced a webinar for treatment-resistant depression for the American Academy of Nurse Practitioners. Recently, she made a webinar entitled "Recharging Mental Health Providers by Decreasing Compassion Fatigue and Promoting Resiliency".
